Viceroys, Vicars, and Vergers: British English for Readers -2nd Edition
SKU: 979-8-9888182-1-2

This is a lighthearted dictionary of ‘Briticisms’ to help the reader understand and enjoy all that is confusing in British Literature. A non-British reader can often take meaning from context, but that’s not quite the same thing as really understanding. And a little topical insight of British history is useful. VICEROYS, VICARS, AND VERGERS has just enough entertaining history to add to the reader’s enjoyment.

This book is available both as an eBook and perfect bound printed book.  Or it will be once I figure out how to make it so.

Shortly after the Texans figured out how to fracture shale formations for oil, North Dakota had become second only to Texas in domestic oil production and a little prairie town with little more than a grain elevator and a railroad depot came to be the center of a twenty-first century boom. Overnight, Williston North Dakota exploded. It was colder than the Alaskan Klondike, richer than California in 1949, and had more sin and sinners than Mark Twain’s Comstock. This is the story of horny young oil field workers, greedy lawyers, drunks & druggies, hookers –with hearts of gold and otherwise, and just a few regular decent people.

The rush was all about getting rich as soon as possible, but it’s also the story of the people who grew up in Williston farming and raising their families before anyone ever heard of fracking.

The Engineer's Cookbook
SKU: 979-8-9888182-1-9

This is so much more than a collection of recipes. It will teach a beginner to cook like an engineer might cook -with supreme efficiency. It will also offer the good cook a new paradigm -a paradigm toward maximizing out-put per input. Is the glass half full or half empty? “Nope," the engineer says, "The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.”

Here is the intersection of creative cooking with the discipline of engineering. It will teach a young person setting up his or her own kitchen how make that kitchen hum and how to get a great meal on the table economically and healthfully without burning the place down. Or it will give even the best cooks some tips and tricks that will get them to the eating and enjoying part quicker, cheaper, and even tastier.

Frankly, it's not finished, but for two things:
1.  I have to figure out how to make this website work and so I'm including it.
2.  Photoshop is fun to fiddle around with, so I've done the cover. At least a first fraft of the cover.   Drop me a line about what you think or needs changing.
